Menomonee River Spring Clean-up

Saturday, April 20, 2013, volunteers from around the area pitched in help clean up our waterways at the annual Spring River Clean Up.   SEWTU once again hosted a site on the Menomonee River near Miller Park.  Volunteers met at in the parking lot and quickly got to work cleaning the Menomonee River corridor.  SEWTU is involved as a partner in a large scale fish passage project on the north end of Miller Valley and this workday was part of our work-hour contribution to the project.  Work should be completed this summer and soon fish in the Menomonee will have access to crucial habitat upstream of Miller Park.

SEWTU would like to thank Milwaukee Riverkeeper for organizing the event, John Spain for leading our involvement,  and of course, all the volunteers who assisted in the River Clean-Up.
