Successful FISTA Training Event

On Saturday January 18 2020, despite a snowstorm and blowing windy conditions, nine TU members received their FISTA chainsaw certifications.

Having a FISTA certification is a requirement for operating a chainsaw on any TU project with any DNR involvement and the chapter needs as many as possible for successful workdays.  A thanks goes out to our members who came out on a lousy day and participated in this successful training day.

Additionally thank you to everyone who helped out with lunch and all of the things that made this event a success, especially our TU volunteers who are already FISTA certified.

Lastly, we understand the lousy weather, especially the poor driving conditions, kept many of those who signed up unable to attend. We totally understand. Given the number of those who expressed interest, we will see about some future FISTA training, hopefully under more pleasant conditions. We will keep the membership posted.
